Аннотация: This tutorial provides an overview of the contemporary issues of natural resource studies and different aspects of natural resource use. Natural resource studies address the issues related to the rational use of natural resources, the patterns of their distribution in the world, and sustainable management, which deals with creating sustainable solutions for conserving natural resources such as water, minerals, energy, etc. The program allows students to direct their study towards specific environments, natural resources or industries, focusing on such topics in natural resource studies as renewable resource management, energy use, climate change, forest and wildlife management, land-use planning, conservation. Аннотация: В книге обобщены результаты первого этапа изучения биологии японского мохнаторукого краба в Приморье. Приведены данные по его распределению и миграциям, биологической структуре (размерный, весовой и половой состав), половому созреванию, линьке, репродуктивной биологии, продолжительности жизни и темпам роста, питанию и биоценотическим связям, внутривидовой дифференциации, численности и промыслу. Выявлены особенности жизненного цикла японского мохнаторукого краба в Приморье, по сравнению с центром ареала (Японские острова). Даны рекомендации по рациональному использованию запасов этого вида. Книга предназначена для гидробиологов, экологов, специалистов в области аквакультуры, предпринимателей, занимающихся прибрежным промыслом, а также для студентов и аспирантов соответствующих специальностей. The results of first staging post of Japanese mitten crab biology’s studying in waters of Primorye integrated and analyzed in this book. Data about its distribution and migrations, biological structure (size, weight and sex composition), maturation, molting, reproductive biology, longevity and growth rates, feeding habits and biocoenotic relations, interspecies differentiation, number and fi shery discussed. The features of life history of Japanese mitten crab in waters of Primorye, in comparing with its areal centre (Japanese Archipelago), detected. Recommendations on rational using of its resources are given. The book is mean for hydrobiologists, ecologists, aquaculturists, coastal fishers, and for students and graduate students of relevant specialities.

Аннотация: В монографической сводке обобщены материалы многолетних исследований биологии, занесенного в Красную книгу представителя рода Phoca островного тюленя (Phoca vitulina stejnegeri), обитающего в северо-западной части Тихого океана. К анализу, кроме собственных данных, привлечены имеющиеся литературные сведения, на основе которых проведено полномасштабное сравнение рассматриваемых в монографии вопросов биологии этого тюленя с аналогичными по другим подвидам, обитающим в иных частях его ареала. Впервые предпринята попытка описания всех систем органов (кроме мышечной), роста и развития. Рассмотрены размножение, питание, распределение, численность. Дано описание стаций. Отдельная глава монографии посвящена проблеме охраны местообитаний и сохранению поголовья в условиях нарастающего антропогенного воздействия на биоресурсы в акватории островов заселенных островным тюленем. Книга предназначена для зоологов, морфологов, экологов, биогеографов, специалистов в области охраны природы, студентов и преподавателей высших учебных заведений. This monographic review summarizes materials of many years of biological studies dedicated to the insular seal (Phoca vitulina stejnegeri), the Northwestern Pacific species of the Phoca genus, which was inscribed in the Red Data List. An additional to our own data, the analysis abounds with numerous available literature sources, giving the ground for a comprehensive comparison of issues of the seal’s biology, being considered in the monograph, with those concerning other similar subspecies that inhabit various parts of its range. An attempt is made for the first time to describe all the organ systems (except for the muscular one), as well as body growth and development. Breeding, feeding, distribution and abundance issues are also viewed. Description of habitats, is made. One chapter of the monograph is devoted to the problems of this species environment protection and conservation of its population in view of steadily growing anthropogenic pressure on biological resources in the area of islands inhabited by insular seal. The book is aimed at zoologists, morphologists, ecologists, biogeography’s, specialists in the field of environment protection, as well as at higher education lecturers and students.

Аннотация: The book is the first part of the monograph «Classification of countable models of complete theories» consisting of two parts. In the monograph, a classification of countable models of complete theories with respect to two basic characteristics (Rudin-Keisler preorders and distribution functions for numbers of limit models) is presented and applied to the most important classes of countable theories such as the class of Ehrenfeucht theories (i. e., complete first-order theories with finitely many but more than one pairwise non-isomorphic countable models), the class of small theories (i. e., complete first-order theories with countably many types), and the class of countable first-order theories with continuum many types. For realizations of basic characteristics of countable complete theories, syntactic generic constructions, generalizing the Jonsson-Fraïssé construction and the Hrushovski construction, are presented. Using these constructions a solution of the Goncharov-Millar problem (on the existence of Ehrenfeucht theories with countable models which are not almost homogeneous) is described. Modifying the Hrushovski-Herwig generic construction, a solution of the Lachlan problem on the existence of stable Ehrenfeucht theories is shown. In the first part, a characterization of Ehrenfeuchtness, properties of Ehrenfeucht theories, generic constructions, and algebras for distributions of binary semi-isolating formulas of a complete theory are considered. The book is intended for specialists interested in Mathematical Logic.
