Аннотация: Anthony Trollope (1815 – 1882) was an English novelist of the Victorian era. Among his best-known works is a series of novels collectively known as the Chronicles of Barsetshire, which revolves around the imaginary county of Barsetshire. «Is He Popenjoy?» is a comic novel, which tells a story of the Marquis of Brotherton who returns to England from Italy with an Italian wife and small child who he claims as his heir, Lord Popenjoy. The plot explores, among other things the question of legitimacy and also that of the power struggles between husband and wife – a topic frequently visited by Trollope.
