В задачу этой монографии входило осветить основные разделы современной биологии и экологии микроорганизмов, а также дать представление об основных достижениях в этой области. Авторы надеются, что монография будет полезна для студентов, преподавателей, аспирантов, научных сотрудников и специалистов, занимающихся различными вопросами микробиологии, а также тем, кто увлекается микробиологией. Biology of microorganisms is the main part of general biology and is becoming increasingly important for the understanding of basic processes occurring in living organisms. Microorganisms are the most ancient inhabitants of our planet. By their role in the creation of the biosphere, in the maintenance of many vitally important biospheric processes they have no equal. Humanity is only slightly opened a secret hidden from us the world of microorganisms. Outstanding and amazing discoveries, we think, is still ahead. The objective of this monograph was to highlight the key areas of modern biology and ecology of microorganisms, as well as to give an idea about the main achievements in this field. The authors hope that the monograph will be useful for students, teachers, graduate students, researchers and professionals dealing with various issues of Microbiology, as well as those who are interested in microbiology. All comments and suggestions to improve the monograph will be gratefully accepted and considered.

Аннотация: This report presents the first results of the Research and Conservation Program “Influence of Climate Changes on the Ecosystems of Dauria Ecoregion and Nature-protecting Adaptation”, which is implemented at Dauria International Protected Area (DIPA). The report is dedicated to stopping degradation of the natural ecosystems in Dauria and preserving globally endangered species under conditions of intensified economic development and periodic water deficit caused by climatic cycles. The report primarily covers the Northeast of Dauria Steppe Ecoregion its geography, climate, ecosystems and their dynamics, anthropogenic impacts on natural processes, ecological monitoring, protected areas planning and management, water resources management and threats to aquatic ecosystems.
